We are very proud of the fact that NightScenes has the best warranty in the industry, not just in the greater Austin, Texas area. We give a full three-year warranty on all parts and labor for any malfunction of a lighting system that we design and install. This includes everything that can go wrong except things that are beyond our control like vandals, wires being cut somehow or varmint damage. It also includes two free check-ups per year to insure the system is looking great and performing as it should.
Most other outdoor lighting companies provide up to one year of service or warranty. Why do we go so much farther than the rest?
It’s pretty simple really: we have a lot of faith in the products we install, and in our mad installation skills. We know that if we use outstanding products and install them the way they are meant to be installed, they will last a long time. We also know that our clients are making an investment in the way their property looks at night; they expect it to look fabulous for a long time. It’s important to us for the systems that we design and install to look as good in three years as they did the day they were installed.
If there is going to be a failure in any of the products we use it’s probably going to happen within that three year period as well. It may take two years for a problem to show up. A company with a less confident warranty will then charge the customer to come out and make the repairs. Not so with us, we cover those issues for three years.
What about after three years? Obviously, we can’t cover everything ourselves forever. Following the initial three year period, we let the manufacturer warranty kick in. The integrated LED fixtures we use carry a 15 year full replacement warranty so between three years and fifteen years there is no charge for the product being replaced, only a labor charge – that’s it. Sometimes the manufacturer will even cover that expense if they have experienced an ongoing problem with a certain product. I remember a big problem they had with transformers several years ago, and we had to replace a lot of them. We couldn’t charge the customers for that work, so we billed the manufacturer — and they paid for us to do the work. It is very rare though for a manufacturer to have a wide spread problem like that; however, it shows the integrity of the companies we like to do business with when they can stand behind their products they way we stand behind our work.
The bottom line is confidence. By using high quality products that are backed by a stellar manufacturer’s warranty, and then installing them the right way, we can feel confident offering an extended service and warranty period that far surpasses any other lighting company.
