It’s a Small World After All —
We all know that the remarkable advances in technology and the vast amount of information instantly available at our fingertips through the world wide web has demolished the geographical boundaries that once used to separate business professionals from potential customers. Now, any expert in a particular field can make his expertise known to a massive audience through a variety of online platforms such as e-books, whitepaper, websites, YouTube and blogs (to name just a few) from all over the world. Anyone anywhere with a question has the opportunity to get the answers they need without ever leaving the comfort of their pajamas.
A lot of the posts you read in this forum are answers to questions we have received from emails or through our website from readers just like you. Not only is it wonderful to know that folks are interested in landscape lighting, but also that they trust us to give them an honest answer to their query. This provides us a tremendous source of blog inspiration, so please keep them coming! We’ve all heard it said that any question is a good question, because you’re not the only one who doesn’t know the answer – you’re just the one who was brave enough to raise your hand. We try to make our blogs and topic articles very accessible to the consumer, and encourage everyone to continue being brave enough to raise their hands!
Although the internet has brought us together virtually via our computer connection, it’s difficult for NightScenes to accept every project offered to us that is physically much more than 100 miles from our home base in Central Texas. In this case, geographical boundaries actually have to be considered. So we are happy to respond to the many requests for referrals we receive. Since we’ve been active in the industry for over 10 years and involved with our expansive trade association (Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals) on a national and international basis, we’ve had the chance to meet and interact with a lot of outdoor lighting designer/contractors from all over the U.S., Canada, and even a couple in Mexico and Venezuela. When someone from Miami, Sacramento, Buffalo – or anywhere in between drops us an email to ask if we can recommend a contractor in their area, we can usually do that for them from the pool of outstanding professionals we know who are as passionate about their outdoor lighting work as we are.
In the event that we can’t refer a lighting business in a requested location, we always recommend that consumers read our blog. Then, at least, they will be armed with powerful information, and know what questions to ask of any outdoor lighting contractor they consider hiring — and they know what answers they should get to help choose the best qualified team for the job.
We want everyone to know and understand outdoor lighting and what they should be able to expect from a reliable and dependable landscape lighting professional. If we can do a project for one of our readers — that’s great? But being an honest resource for the general public is what this blog is all about.
